The Haunting of Nautica.

I was shooting one of these 800 million hit point npcs (named Emerald "something") from the volcano. The volcano ticker said it still had 2 hours and so many minutes left. Suddenly, I saw a warning to finish shooting these npcs to revive the volcano? So I took off another 30 million hit points or so. I was down to less than 100 million hit points, and all of the npcs vanished, including mine. You must be joking me! Who designed this? What a waste of time and ammo, not to mention my lost reward (I was soloing it). This volcano feature is broken (along with many other things on Seafight).

 

I agree, the volcano always seems to have conflicting event ticker info. I've seen it say it's erupting but it's not and I've seen where there are two conflicting tickers; one says it's erupting and the other says xx time until the eruption.

The rewards were not spectacular unless you were looking for more pearls and crowns, etc. I shot them for the completion and don't plan to return to them.

The Volcano system is not broken, It is working as intended.
Players need to sink the small Npc's in order to fuel the volcano and keep it active.
If not enough Npc's are shot in the volcano maps by players then the volcano will die.
The timer you see is the maximum duration of the current active volcano.

The Volcano has been present on seafight for quite some time now and has appeared many times during different events, Graphically it may change but the mechanic of the volcano is always and is still currently the same.

So to clarify, If players do not shoot enough Npc's then the volcano will die, regardless of the maximum duration time displayed, If this going to happen you will get the notification on screen, I.E. the warning that you saw yourself on screen.
If a volcano dies, all Volcano Npc's will expire and no loot will be given for unfinished Npc's.

Well - I had no more than 5 minutes warning that it was going dormant when it appeared on my screen, although the ticker showed 2+ hours left. Even if the "2+ hours left" was the "maximum time left", how was I supposed to finish an 800 million hit point npc that I had shot down to 130 million hit points in 5 minutes? There is no way to figure out how much time is left on the volcano at any point in time, unless we are near its maximum duration time.

But check out this posting and the reply below, and you will know why I'm irritated that I didn't get my rewards off of the Volcano's npc! (There are some Level 5 Thunderbolt cannons available for purchase using Big Points and Pirate Glories).

Your fellow pirate is correct, you can obtain some Pirate Glory from NPCs spawned by Volcano.

Additional Pirate Glory can be obtained from some of the Season boxes.

@The*Defiant - I shot many of the volcano event ships (vs doing one solo) and none gave me any Glories, so I think the chance is low. But thanks for pointing out the L5 Thunders, I had enough from before to snag those.

@Mr-Amber with all due respect, for me it's not how the volcano works that's the issue. It's that the event ticker doesn't give the right info. Today I saw it say that the next eruption would start in 5 min, but it was currently erupting already. Later there were two notifications saying the exact same message about it currently erupting with no time on either. I've also seen it say that the eruption was currently happening, but it was not erupting.

As previously pointed out the volcano is working as intended.

Regarding pirate glory, please remember that this reward is allocated on a 'small chance' basis, you may shoot twice and get it both times, you may shoot a hundred and not receive it once, that is the nature of a 'chance' reward.
