Winter Thaw​

The event starts at Tuesday, 9th January at 12:00 noon and ends Monday, 22nd January at 12:00 noon.

All times are local server times.

The Winter Thaw event features the following:

• 4 event ships (three normal and one admiral)
• 1 group map: Viking's Honor
• 2 event rankings
• Ice Floes and Eternal Ice Floes
• Event chests
• Event quests (Ship, Atlantis and Secret quests)

Time and Date

The event starts at 12 noon on 9th January and ends on 22nd January at 12 noon.

The event has two phases, the second phase (increased NPC spawn) starts at 12 noon on 15th January.

The Ice ammunition will melt sometime after the event ends, so use it quick!

All times are local server times.​

General Info

The Winter Thaw event is a spawn event where you can hunt 4 event ships, “Grumpy Boar”, “Elegant Elk”, “Black Ram” and “Midgard Wyrm” in maps 5 to 50.

“Elegant Elk” spawns 4 “Black Ram” on death.

“Midgard Wyrm” is an admiral event ship which spawns after a certain number of “Grumpy Boar”, “Elegant Elk” and “Black Ram” have been sunk.

All ship events must be shot with elite ammunitions.​

NPCs

• Grumpy Boar:
  • Depending on how much damage is inflicted, you are rewarded with EXP, Snow ammunition and Pearls, Crowns or Yulong Coins.
  • The player who inflicts the most damage gains Reputation with Sigurd.
  • The player who does the last shot has a chance to get one event key.
• Elegant Elk:
  • Depending on how much damage you inflict, you are rewarded with EXP, Reputation with Sigurd and Pearls, Crowns or Yulong Coins.
  • The player who inflicts the most damage has a chance to receive Ancient Emblems.
• Black Ram:
  • Depending on how much damage you inflict, you are rewarded with EXP, Reputation with Sigurd and Pearls, Crowns or Yulong Coins.
• Midgard Wyrm:
  • Depending on how much damage you inflict (at least 3%), you are rewarded with EXP, Reputation with Sigurd and Pearls, Crowns or Yulong Coins.
  • The player who inflicts the most damage receives the Valhalla’s Pride Ship Design or Pearls. (Fallback for Valhalla’s Pride Ship Design: Polar Ship Design. Fallback for the Polar Ship Design: either Yulong Coins, Safanad Coins, Orichalkum or Overlord Cannons Level 5)
• Tsunami Golem:
  • Depending on how much damage you inflict (at least 3%), you are rewarded with EXP, Reputation with Sigurd and Pearls, Crowns, Yulong Coins, Safanad Coins or Orichalkum.
  • The player who inflicts the most damage receives the Valhalla’s Pride Ship Design or Pearls. (Fallback for Valhalla’s Pride Ship Design: Polar Ship Design. Fallback for the Polar Ship Design: either Yulong Coins, Safanad Coins, Orichalkum or Overlord Cannons Level 5)
• Spirit of the Wind / Ghost of the Flame / Sprite of the Earth / Phantom of the Deep:
  • Depending on how much damage is inflicted (at least 2%), you are rewarded with EXP, Pearls, Crowns, Orichalkum or Yulong Coins.
  • The player who inflicts the most damage is rewarded with Tempest I, Hydrax I, Sword I, Claymore I, Orichalkum or Valhalla's Pride (Fallback: Orichalkum or Polar Pathfinder).
  • The player who does the last shot has a chance to get one event key.
• Krakaton:
  • Depending on how much damage is inflicted, you are rewarded with EXP, Pearls, Yulong, Crowns, Safanad or Orichalkum.
  • The player who inflicts the most damage is rewarded with Pearls or Orichalkum.
  • The player who does the last shot is rewarded with Tentacular Triumph or Pearls, (Fallback: Kraken Hunter Ship Design) (Fallback Kraken Hunter: Orichalkum)
• Progeny Alpha:
  • • Depending on how much damage is inflicted, you are rewarded with EXP, Pearls, Yulong, Crowns, Safanad or Orichalkum.
    • The player who inflicts the most damage is rewarded with Pearls.
    • The player who does the last shot is rewarded with Hydrax II, Toxic Torpedo, Blood of Inya, Tritons Crown, Homing Mine, Dragonfire level 2 or Whirlpool.
• Undersea Interloper:
  • Depending on how much damage is inflicted (at least 2%), you are rewarded with EXP, Pearls, Crowns, Yulong, Safanad or Orichalkum.
  • The player who inflicts the most damage is rewarded with Fire Torpedo, Tempest II or Hydrax II.
  • The player who does the last shot is rewarded with event keys.

Ice Floes

The Ice Floes must be shot with harpoons.

Items such as Snow ammunition, Triton´s Crown, Simbi Amulet, Bastion lvl 5, Firestorm lvl 1, Harpoons lvl 4, Crystals and more items can be obtained from Ice Floes for the player who does the most damage.​

Eternal Ice Floes

The Eternal Ice Floes must be shot with harpoons.

Crowns, Yulong Coins, Contact Mines, Homing Mines and Lost Love can be obtained from Eternal Ice Floes for the player who does the most damage.​

Event Treasure Chests

In the Event Treasure Chests, you find many useful items, Snow ammunition, Simbi Amulets, Tritons Crowns, The Lionheart, Stone of Storms, Unstoppable, Bloodlust. Bastion lvl 5, Firestorm lvl 1, Taureau Amulet, Recklessness, Mojo and some other. ​

Ammunition

Snow ammunition causes more damage against “Grumpy Boar”.

Ice ammunition causes more damage against “Elegant Elk”.

Burning Ice ammunition causes more damage against “Black Ram”, “Midgard Wyrm” and on the group map: “Viking's Honor”.​

Viking's Honor - Group Map

Once you have collected enough ancient emblems you are able to access the “Viking's Honor” from the Safe Haven.

After you choose the role you want to play (“Damage Dealer”, “Healer” and Tank”) and the team is full you are teleported to the “Viking's Honor” map where you face the boss “Aegir's Wrath”.

Your goal is to kill “Aegir's Wrath”. “Aegir's Wrath” spawns 8 towers “Ran's Will” (max. 2 at the same time) which spawn “Kolgas”. “Ran's Wills” de-spawn after they have spawned a certain amount of “Kolgas”.

There is a damage zone around “Aegir's Wrath” which grows over the time.

The damage zone reduces when one “Ran's Will” de-spawns. When a “Ran's Will” is destroyed the damage zone is reset and another zone is in the place of the destroyed “Ran's Will” which applies a de-buff to “Aegir's Wrath” when he is in the zone.

This zone de-spawns as soon as another “Ran's Will” de-spawns or is destroyed.

When all “Ran's Will” are de-spawned or destroyed there is no other ability to reduce the damage zone.

When Aegir's Wrath is dead, the map is finished and you are teleported back to normal map again.​

Quests

For Phase 1 & 2, you can accept quests by speaking to Sigurd Lundgren, The Arbitrer, Roger Flynt, Eona Norling (Safe heaven).

There are several quest chains with 14 normal and 2 daily quests.

For Atlantis Phase 1 & 2, you can accept quests by speaking to Turyk, Majestra Denali, Roger Flynt.

There are several quest chains with 8 normal and 2 daily quests.

For Viking Honor Group Map, you can accept quests from Eona Norling and Loreena Barret. There is 1 normal and 1 daily quest.

This event will also have secret quests. If anyone discovers a Celestial Dragon (reward from a secret quest), it will be a valuable component in the coming Chinese New Year!

The daily quests are reset each day at 12 noon (local server time).​
