Wood Beam / Expansion

I have tried to use my wood beams, but I can't get them into the expansion. Is there some slot on the ship's castle you need to have first?

The only requirement is that you have Expansion Slots available to place your beams into. The Equipping Your Ship/Slots bible entry shall explain how to equip beams.

I have read that, but it doesn't say how to get more slots. I have 0/0 for expansion slots. How do I buy the expansion slots so I can equip my wood beams?

Expansion Slots can be gained in a number of ways; extra decks, pet special gem, purchasing the slots being a few.

The most easiest is to purchase some Expansion Slots. This can be done by opening the Ship Equipment page as explained in the bible post above. On the right hand side, click the 4 lines, and move the second slider to the amount you would like to purchase.

The cost shall be displayed below for your selected amount, then press Buy slots. You will then be able to equip some expansions. 1 Beam = 1 Slot.

Okay Swift. Thank you very much as I understand it now. After I have the 10 spots filled in the expansions, how do I buy more slots?

You can purchase up to 160 Expansion Slots using the method mentioned above. Viewing the Maximum Expansion Slots entry shall show you where you can get the remaining Slots.
