rymar, you shooting calypso alone? when we are shooting there are like 50 ships standard, sometimes even 80+ ships at 1 calypso.. i try to get tentacles with shooting and bombs but sometimes you cant even select them due to the many ships that are present.

 

there is a problem with shooting tentacles, I lock on it and nothing happens, I can lock on spawn of calypso and calypso and can shoot them, PLEASE no excuses Rymer, there is a problem with this game and no one at bp cares.

Please be aware that quest item can be looted from the NPC mentioned within such quest.

So if your quest state to defeat X, then such item can be dropped from X during this specific quest.

You can get this quest item from the NPC mentioned within your quest.

If I remember correctly one task is to collect one + defeat Siren (in this case you can get it from shooting Siren) and the other from Shipwreck / Freya Disciple NPC.

I agree with the other player's posts, it's next to impossible to shoot tentacles when you can't even see them due to all the ships present. The pic you put here says it all - what a mess, lol! I've managed 2 in three days and still need three more to finish the quest - I have been playing up to 6 hours a day. You have to be lucky enough to be in the spot where the Spawn of Calypso spawns in order to get any tentacles, it's all luck. BTW, I see in your pic that the shooting trails of all the ships cannonballs are visible. I do not see these, I only see my own. Any idea why? It's actually good that I don't as it's less clutter.

Let me repeat it all again.

If you need quest item "A" and your quest tell you to defeat Siren then quest item "A" can be obtained from Siren.

This rule apply to each and every event quest and it is very easy to remember.

I experienced the same frustrations that you have, and was resigned to giving up on trying to shoot the tentacles. I even thought at one point I would try (even though I didn't like the idea) to shoot without using an aura. <--[If you use an aura, you risk losing (wasting) it when you lock onto another player by mistake, instead of a tentacle].

But I tried the following, and it helped me a lot! I used an aura, and went up to the event npc and sat right on top of one of the tentacles (take your pick of which one to choose). Note: It helps if you can get there relatively soon after you see the spawn message. I used the "zoom" feature to enlarge the picture, and then just sat there, and when the tentacle appeared under me, I blew it away. By sitting on top of the tentacle, other players can't shoot it. The software reads it as, when they try to lock on it, they are trying to shoot you, and they get the message that you are "PvP Protected". Now, of course, my fellow competitors didn't like it, so on one occasion, a player put a liquid fire trap under me. My options were to either not move, in order to get an extra shot or two before the fire trap sank me (while tossing amulets to restore my hit points), or to move, which of course offset what I was trying to accomplish in the first place. But the liquid fire trap was only tried on me once, and the other times, by sitting on top of the tentacle, my aura blocked other players from targeting it. This strategy was the solution for me. I hope this idea is of value to you, and helps others as well. Good luck!

P.S. The "boost" option not only makes it where you only see your own volleys (which can be good or bad, depending on the situation - PvE vs. PvP), but it also takes out some of the lag in the game caused by tons of players shooting an npc at once. I have a very fast internet connection, but sometimes, I still encounter lag when shooting a Calypso with 20 other boats around it. The "boost" feature helps remove that lag.

I'm not sure where to find these? The regular cargo I've found have no such items as rewards.

In the Cargo Crates you find Mojos, Crystals or Heartbreaker ammunition.

The event cargo looks exactly the same as regular ones and can be found in all maps.
