    Does this new design only give the speed bonus in the normal state or does it also give the speed bonus for the ship in the damaged state like the german design does?

    The Zapata design will have a special buff which gives you an extra speed buff of 49 points when your ship is in its normal state (ie: NOT when damaged or destroyed).
