when or how does the ribs, start or go in effect. last week they capped at 2 ribs gave the reduction any more only gave the hp/vp, now 1 lvl1 rib (+12%) hardly touchs the second decimal point. unless 12 is supposed to be .12

if useing reduction pet, does ribs switch to overall percentil, you could cancel out the +% on ribs with the -% on lantern before, now you cant even do that with 2 rib and 1 lantern.

    Hello minigravey

These are the values of Reinforced Ribs. Taken from Seafight Bible -
    Ship Extensions

    Reinforced Ribs:

    · Needs 25 structure (expansion) slots

    Level 0:

    · + 14.000 Voodoo points (absolute)
    · + 14.000 Hit points (absolute)
    · + 10% Damage prevention (average value)

    Level 1:

    · + 15.000 Voodoo points (absolute)
    · + 15.000 Hit points (absolute)
    · + 12% Damage prevention (average value)

If your ship has 208 expansion slots you can equip 8 of these extensions. With that you will fill 200/208 expansion slots. You will get 8x 15.000 VP and HP and 1x 12% Damage prevention. Mixing extension is not recommended as of right now. For example, if you put 7 Reinforced Ribs and 3 Storm Lanterns your damage will not increase significantly, but your prevention will be much lower compared to a set-up of 8 Reinforced Ribs.

A common mistake is filling the empty spaces with Hardwood Beams. If you have 208 expansion slots you need to equip only 8 Reinforced Ribs and nothing else. Putting 8 Hardwood Beams in empty expansion slots wil result in much lower Damage prevention.

Prevention from all sources stack up. As of right now you can get prevention from following items:

    • Level 24 Ship Gem: 24%
    • Level 24 Pet Gem: 18%
    • Adamantine Hull Castle Level 8: 16%
    • Agwe Armor Plates: 10%
    • Super Armor Plates: 10%
    • Agility Trainer Level 3: 2%
    • Armor Special Ship Gem: 5%
    • Agwes Armor Skill: 14%
    • Brothers In Arms: 5%
    • Reinforced Ribs Level 1: 12%
I hope that the above might answer some of your questions, if not, please do not hesitate to post further questions below.

I would just to add something to Beorn's great answer above.

Any value you see which has (absolute) next to it, means that this value will be applied every time you equip that item.
Any value you see which has (average value) next to it, means that that value is applied once, and then divided by how many extensions you have equipped. So if you had only 1 rib it would be 10% / 1 (10%), if you had 8 ribs and 8 beams it would be 10% / 16 (0.625), then * 8 (5%) because you have 8 of them.

as bp cant do the simple maths, ie work out when a ships hp is low enough for the boarding light to come on, how do we know the advanced maths in calculating damage and damage prevention is actually working?

I would also like to add to this, unless it has since been patched, that figureheads are included in your number of total equipped expansions. Therefore, if you had 8 ribs equipped and 2 figureheads, instead of having 10% damage prevention from having 8/8 expansion slots filled, you will actually receive 8%. This is because the equipped figureheads decrease the ratio to 8/10 instead, and therefore you receive only an 8% damage prevention bonus. This may have been patched however.

    Thanks,

@Destruction The figureheads are still in a separate area, below the expansions. Are you saying that even though they are visually separate that they are not separate in the calculation?

Correct. This was confirmed in Discord by a member of the team around a month ago and is a known bug that I believe will be fixed in due course. I know no more than that however, and it may have already been patched.

    Thanks,

    That's incorrect.

What was confirmed was that the figureheads should be included in the calculation, however they are currently not.

The tooltip for the stats (when you hover over them) are displaying correctly and being correctly calculated, however according to that Team Member the actual stat should be as well, which it currently is not.

  12. The removal of a Figurehead may come into effect later on, regarding the Excellent Extensions. Ie. Players may need to remove 1 Figurehead to receive the full benefit of any of the Extensions.

    Have your queries been answered?
