    when i am equipping pirates there is a value that says boarding bonus and another 1 called boarding protection what of those 2 counts as boarding value and what the other does?

    First is your bonus for you to capture,second is how much you are protected against getting captured. :)

    Hello,

    your fellow pirate is correct.

    Boarding Bonus is the total offensive power (against other players / npcs) of your Crew; pirates, equipment, and bonuses.

    Boarding Protection is the total defensive power (against other player) of your Crew; pirates, equipment, and bonuses.
