I'm not sure what is going on in the "Dragonhoard Arena" map. I've been in it 3 times, got sunk every time, yet the last time I was in there for quite a long time. I saw that there were several rewards the hoarders had collected the last trip, yet I got nothing, perhaps because I got sunk. How long do we have to survive? Does it show the rewards in the logbook? By the way, I waited over 45 minutes to get in one time, and over 23 minutes without a player even getting into my queue (see below). The "average" wait time was around 3 minutes (so it says), which seems very doubtful. And somehow, I got "1" credit for the groupmaps event completion task, and yet I was sunk every time! I've done no other groupmaps. If we have to "survive and finish" the map for "1" credit, then I see no practical hope for this.

The objective of this map is to lure the dragon away from the hoarders so they can collect the eggs and return them to the bottom left circle. Use the Range book to stand a chance. Shoot it and run out of it's range. Don't get trapped in a corner by it.

That said, the rewards are not great unless you get all the eggs. Also, most players in the map just hide from the dragon and let it kill all the hoarders so you get back out quickly (with a credit for the completion). It's an alternate to the doubling of cost of the bunny map to get event completion, but not much else. I suspect you have such long wait times because most of those using it to complete the event have now done so and less people are playing it.

This is a copy / paste from our FAQ:

The map is won when you have lasted as long as you can, and all the hoarders have died.

You will then receive the rewards of the map as well as any loot the hoarders have successfully stole.

The value of the loot increases a number of times once all the loot of a lower value has been stolen.

If you get sunk you will leave the map and not gain any rewards. If all players get sunk then the map is lost.

Work together to be a distraction, heal your companions, and steal as much treasure as you can pirates!

The average time display the time that is usually needed to gather a full team. If no one wanted to play that map then you may end up waiting several hours.

I previously read that FAQ section very closely before I made my post. "Lasting as long as you can" doesn't sound like the normal way we survive a map and win the rewards. It sounds like we all end up getting sunk, but it leaves that open to our "best guess" as to whether or not that is correct. How did I get a credit when I lost 3 straight times? Thank you.

Yes - I previously shot the dragon a few times with ice ammo to try to freeze it in place. I also wondered - in hindsight - about just going to a map corner, but it states we are trying to keep the hoarders from getting sunk, so they can gather more rewards. Inaction on our part can hardly be construed by a sane person as being an effective way to accomplish that goal. Thank you - I'll try the "inaction" method, but this is a stupid way to offer a challenge to players. "Beat the map" by doing nothing? Common sense dictates that you try to help the hoarders get as much treasure as possible, thus increasing the rewards. The dragon can also be evaded, but then - out of the blue - he sinks you in one shot. That's nuts. It would help if the developers were either more experienced, put more thought into these challenges, or both. But I guess that is expecting too much. Lastly, you may be correct in saying that most players have finished attempting this map. But that's messed up too; this event still has over a week left in it! And not everyone has the time to do this part of the "event completion" requirement in the early days of an event. It's not like shooting some npcs by yourself on an unplanned basis. It requires having stretches of time to devote to a lot of potential "waiting" in safe haven, where you have to depend on the actions (or inactions) of other players you don't know.

I agree it's messed up, but in the end it depends on your main goal. Are you wanting to play the map and maximize the rewards from it or are you just trying to get your count up on the event completion?

Personally, I tried to play the map all but my last time in it. I got tired of being the only one trying in the end. (Note: I wasn't always the only one trying, some of the times there was one other and once three of us. Never all 4.)

You get +1 for each and every entry to that map doesn't matter if you get sunk or no.

The FAQ state (please read the whole sentence):

The map is won when you have lasted as long as you can, and all the hoarders have died.

I got sunk on two of my times in the map and neither one counted. I think the anomaly is the one time @Dream~Crusher got a credit when sunk. Is it possible they changed it later to count sinks? Was there was an update after I had the sinks that didn't count (on the first day of the map)?

As far as I am aware there were no recent changes to any of the group maps.

Okay - hear me out. If just entering the map gets you credit, then I should have three credits, instead of only one. I went in a total of three times. I got my one credit from either the first or second time I went in. The third time, I lasted the longest of my attempts, but finally got sunk (as was the case on the first two attempts). I never got any prizes. If you must enter the map, and last until all of the hoarders are killed, and then you can get sunk, and then you get a credit, then how do you get sunk and know the final status of all of the hoarders? <--(That is what your highlighted sentence above refers to, but I'm baffled as to the answer). Maybe we only get credit for one attempt if our logbook shows we received prizes, implying some hoarders "made it". Do the rewards show in the logbook? I only have information that kalytron sank me, which he indeed did.

My main objective is just to try to understand what I need to do ("endure") in order to get "one" credit per map attempt. Then, try to figure out how long I have to sit in the queue (on "average", which is messed up mathematically, because you can sit for 15 minutes, someone enters the queue, the time counter resets to 0, then it starts again, etc. I suspect the "average waiting time" calculation is not correct, because of this little "twist"). My understanding is that the other map choice is more time-consuming, so I picked the "Dragonhoard Arena" map to try to complete. I'm not trying to make a big deal out of this; I'm just trying to understand it, and I know darn well I'm not dumb (or the only one confused). If all else fails, I'll ultimately just say "forget this", and give up on keeping my "hot streak" going. I'm not obsessed with this new bonus feature for "consecutive event completions", but it's a shame to get close, and then be defeated by a "lost in translation" issue.

Update: I sailed my baby boat, while I kept my big boat in the "dragonhoard arena" map queue. I started at 10:50 p.m. my time, and I sat until 11:58 p.m., periodically moving my boat ever so slightly so it wouldn't log out. That's over one hour, and the average waiting time remained estimated at 1:03. (Maybe they meant an hour and 3 minutes)? The system may increase the estimate (which it should) at some periodic point within the game, but it's safe to state it isn't accurate, and with as much time as we have currently left in this event, it is badly messed up.

Please do not create multiple posts one after another, if you wish to add further information to your message please use the Edit option.

In order to receive any rewards from Dragon Hoard map at least one of ships need to deliver stolen goods back to the safe zone.

You'll get +1 to your group map when all hoarders are sunk and you are alive when that take place.

As soon as all hoarders are sunk you'll be teleported back to SH.

The average time of queue that display works correctly.

For the future you should never leave any sort of group maps for "the final days" as many players finished their completion about 2 days ago and now won't do these maps anymore.

    1) Why do you keep lecturing me to edit my posts in that fashion? I will not. If you want it to look a certain way, that's your job. That's why I'm the customer, and you work for Bigpoint. Stop telling me this, or I'll report your rudeness. You need to take a course in being tactful.

    2) At least one ship must reach the safe zone? Well, it's about time we learned that! That's all we asked for. It would have helped had you put that in the FAQs to begin with. Bigpoint needs to hire more people, so this game is run better.

    3) It hit me this morning that the "average wait time" calculation **might** be correct (my apology for saying it was definitely not), but that calculation only reflects "successful" attempts. The total picture is most likely very different. And for the record, the average wait time should not have shown as 1 minute, 3 seconds last night, if virtually everyone - as you so distinctly affirm - has already finished the group maps. Think about that. I waited for 1 hour and 8 minutes last night, and still did not get into the dragonhoard arena map! Intuitively, that average number (for "successful" waiting) should increase as fewer people try to play the map.

    4) Lastly - the players that are penalized are solo players who don't use Discord (or some other method) to get a group together. This current system needs improvement.

In the FAQs for the E. Royale & E. Surprise it says - The player who inflicts the Last Shot and has at least 1 event point will receive Mutant Eggs, Extra Speed Buff, Fourth/ Fifth or Sixth Torn Ship Plan. What is the Extra Speed buff?

I think the event lasts too long, 3 weeks shooting eggs and doing some simple missions takes away the good experience the game has to offer.
Also the frequent restarts are kinda frustrating, and the price for the buffs is too much i.m.o.

Another stupidity on the part of the developers or whatever they are doing there? How can event ships shoot you, when few ships shoot us? Maybe they are preparing us for the fact that in 1-2 years, the few players left, only NPCs will shoot them!!!

So? If the Death Area Map wasn't supposed to be part of event (the reason given for why it wasn't the group map for the event completion), then why is entering it the final part of the Where there's a will there's a way quest?

    Ahoy Bawdyn!

Please let me explain, the Death Arena has been introduced as temporary replacement for The Egg Bash (Anne Bunny Tower map) group map.

At this point our developers changed some quests requirement from the Egg Bash -> Death Arena to prevent any further quests from not being possible to be done as at the moment of implementation of Death Arena our Egg Bash map wasn't working.

It was left like that until now, that's why some quests still require you to jump into the Death Arena, and some of phase 3 to the Egg Bash (since this map issue has been fixed).
