    Is there anyway to leave my team in the civil war event. Currently im being murdered every minute atleast once by the npcs on the map. The game has become completely unplayable for me.

    you have to sink the ships on your side ie the ones that dont shoot you, to reduce your reputation to 0

    Your fellow pirate is correct. Once you have 0 reputation the npcs will stop shooting you.
