Hi, with the current sale of extensions, what are some worth getting? I have no extensions as of now, and I wanted to know how much amount of each is enough to get a noticeable difference. I would really appreciate any build guides for pve mainly and some pvp.

    Ahoy .Pivot.!

First of lets start with the base knowledge regarding ship extensions, are you familiar with these? No? Let me explain.

There are 2 different types of values regarding how the extensions work; absolute and relative values.

Absolute values are when extensions that contains the same type of value are added together to give you a total.

Relative values are calculated to at an average, meaning if a value is lower or not included on another equipped extension, the maximum value will be less. The value that is displayed in the overview shows the optimum value. This is the one that can be reached if you are either equipping only one extension, or extensions of the same type.

More information on how it works (with example) can be found here ->
    Ship Extensions

In my opinion the best ship extension, for you as a young pirate, would be Ribs, as these provide you with additional HP/VP as well as Damage Prevention - which is great against NPCs.

Ribs can be obtained from payment, buccaneers market, some events and captain league.

To experience full damage prevention bonus only 1 Rib is required (do not mix it with anything else).

Regarding PvE / PvP builds I suggest:

    PvE (beginner):

    - Ribs only

    PvE (advanced):

    - Ablative Plating Level 5 (must be at least 23 of them to be better than Ribs)

    PvE (max profit):

    - Full storm lanterns for higher damage (this set lowers your damage prevention which may result in being sunk by 1 hit but its great to have when your friend is the one whos tanking the NPC - so you can maximise your profits).

    PvP (HP set):

    - Ablative Plating Level 5 (with Light of Tortuga your HP will jump by at least 2 000 000 - for a limited time)

    PvP (def):

    - One Eyed Ravens - these provide a lot of Dodge Chance, but do not provide any hitpoints therefore making it a bit harder to fight against players with 1-2 mln hp

PvP (max dmg) - my fav

    - Full Storm Lanterns - but used only with Gennie Mirage + Light of Tortuga - providing with a lot of damage, still fine def. and HP base

    Hope that answer your questions.

Thank you once again Rymar! So with a focus on extensions, do people stop using beams with higher-end builds? And secondly, for ribs, should I get them as many as I can or directly jump to ablative plating?

In my personal opinion beams are but a relict of the past, as soon as you will manage to obtain at least 1 Reinforced Rib use it, and then just be patient.

Extension Sales feature level 0 and 1 extensions, if I were in your position I would wait for a payment package with Ribs on higher level (5-6).

Ablative Plating would be of use only if its on level 5 and you've got enough places to purchase and equip minimum 23 of them (skip it for now and focus on your fire power).

I will once again mention Captain League, keep it in mind, its mostly free source of income (yes, you can loot extension items with a bit of luck too).

Hope that helps. Good luck Pirate!
