    FAQ Typhon's Revenge

    Typhon's Revenge

Event from September 14th until September 26th, 2017

    Typhon’s revenge features the following:

    · 1 Quest Giver (1 Quest Chain in 2 parts with 2 repeatable quests)
    · 1 mini game: Boss map (1 Normal Version and 1 Hexxed)
    · 1 group map: Hydra map
    · 3 New Designs
    · 1 New Pet: Wee Hydra
    · 3 Rankings (1 after each phase, 2 daily)
    The event will

    · start at 12 noon on September 14th
    · end at 12 noon on September 26th
    · Black market close at the end of September 27th

All times in Local Server Time

You can come across the following NPCs during the event:

    Captain Jinx

Captain Jinx can only be sunk with pearl ammunition. If you shoot the last shot at Captain Jinx or have inflicted the most damage on him, then you gain cursed souls. You also have a small chance of getting heartbreaker ammunition.

    Captain Dawn

Captain Dawn's ship can only be sunk with pearl ammunition. As a reward you will gain cursed souls and crystals, depending on how much damage you've inflicted upon this NPC.

    Captain Slade
Captain Slade's ship can only be sunk with pearl ammunition. As a reward you will gain radiant souls, and crystals, depending on how much damage you've inflicted on this NPC.

    - The Ladon NPC can also be found on the Sea Chart during the first phase.

    - The slimy eel "Typhon" appears in the second phase

    Ladon (Phase 1)
Ladon can only be sunk with pearl ammunition. As a reward you will gain radiant or cursed souls and pearls, depending on the damage inflicted.

    Typhon (Phase 2)
This ferocious eel roams the seas from the beginning of the second phase until the end of the event and can only be defeated with pearl ammunition. Once you defeat Captain Slade, there's a small chance that the most feared of all eels will appear: Typhon! You will get pearls as a reward for defeating Typhon, depending on how much damage you have inflicted upon him.
In addition, you'll gain experience points when you defeat any one of the mentioned NPCs, depending on how much damage you've inflicted.

Heartbreaker Ammo will cause significantly more damage against all Event NPCs.

    Boss Map
You have to use an Ancient Emblem to reach the normal version of the Boss map. Each further attempt requires additional Ancient Emblems. Magical Emblems are needed for the Hexxed (difficult) version of the Boss map. Each further attempt requires additional Magical Emblems.

You receive Magical Emblems by successfully completing the Boss map.

You have to finish the group map to get ancient emblems.
The Boss map contains the following NPCs:
    · A Healer NPC which is trapped and needs to be freed by the player, to receive healing
    · The 3 tendrils that generates the trap, needs to be killed if the player wants to free the healer
    · A giant fish - Ceto - who has a short range and aggressive behavior
    · A giant eel - Ladon - (recolored version of Typhon) who is stronger that Ceto, but stays in place
    · Alexandros, he gives useful tips for the player how to play the map

There a 3 different ways of playing this map, depending on the play style the loot will change but also the difficulty.
The mini game finishes as soon as both bosses are dead.
The player can finish the mini game acceptable, outstanding, perfect or abandoned

    · Acceptable:
The player frees the healer. It doesn't matter what the player does afterwards, as soon as the healer is free, the mini game will only be acceptable. The player can basically not die because the healer heals so much.
    · Outstanding:
The player doesn't free the healer and kills Ceto first. If the player want to kill Ceto first, it is recommendable to keep the fish away from the eel.

    · Perfect:
Without healer and eel gets killed first. This is very hard, because the fish will follow the player and he has to fight both bosses at the same time.

    · Abandoned
    :
Player cancels the mini game. If the player exits the mini game before killing both bosses the game is counted as abandoned. Abandoned mini games doesn't give ranking points and loot.

The three NPC are very far away from each other, so the eel doesn't start shooting while the player only wants to fight the fish.

The normal and hexed version both give points, depending on how good the player performed. These points will count into a ranking, which will give the player additional rewards next to the event ranking.

You'll receive pearls, Magical Emblems or radiant/cursed souls depending on the difficulty of the Boss map and your score (Acceptable, Excellent, Perfect). You also have a chance to get the new design “Battling Bride” for reward from the Hexxed version!

    New group map

The group map has to be joined in groups of 5 players. Before the group map starts you have to choose your role (Healer, Tank or Damage dealer).

The group has to destroy the Hydra in 2 phases.

    1st phase:
In the middle of the map, you’ll find the Hydra – with an immovable body. The torso will take no damage from the players (with the exception of players with the Hydra Killer Buff – more information about that special buff follows below).
There are 3 different colored Hydra heads that can spawn on the map. And here’s how it works:
At the start of the map one of each of the 3 different colored heads will spawn. Each one of the heads has a ranged attack and moves inside a certain radius around the torso of the Hydra. Depending on the number of the other heads with the same color, each colored head gets stronger. If player kills a head of a special color, two new heads of the other two existing colors will spawn.

Each head also drops a glitter that gives the player a buff when it’s collected (the buff depends on the class that the player has chosen). This buff is stackable but if a player reached a threshold of 6 souls, he can no longer collect any additional souls. The buff will then change into a radiant soul. The amount of souls that the player collected will be shown above the player’s ship. In case of reaching the threshold of 6 souls, the icon will be changed into a radiant soul.

The Hydra map has a special delivery zone where players who are carrying a radiant soul can exchange their souls and the buff into a special Hydra Killer Buff. Then the fight switches to phase 2.

    2nd phase:
When you enter the second phase, a timer of 2 minutes will start. After this period, the 2nd phase ends. The 2nd phase is also finished when either all Hydra heads are killed or the torso dies.

In the second phase, the Hydra heads are stunned and don’t attack the players. If you kill one of the heads, it dies and neither other heads nor glitters will spawn. Every Hydra head that dies will do damage to the torso of the Hydra. To damage the torso of the Hydra directly is only possible when a player has the Hydra killer buff.

    · The map is won if the torso of the Hydra dies.
    · If the torso is still alive but all heads are killed after the timer runs out, a new head will spawn and the fight is switched back to phase 1.
    · If the torso is still alive and also some heads, the fight is switched back to phase 1.

The mini game has a daily ranking in which you can win the following prizes daily:
    · 1st place: 5 Firestorm Cannons and 1 Aquarius bonus map
    · 2nd - 5th place: 2 Firestorm Cannons and 1 Aquarius bonus map
