Hey buddy - In the frozen abyss map, on wave 14, I tried to take the npcs on one at a time by running around the maze. Shooting the "Bliss" npcs gives you more hit points, too. Then, on wave 15, I actually made it to the end of the dungeon on my first 15th-wave attempt. Last year, I never finished it, and I spent a long time trying. They must have made it easier this year <--(and yeah, that's a "relative" term)! But I know I didn't suddenly get better. Also, I got the bonus pot of goodies, too (it's called "Pot Pourri" - see below). On wave 15, be sure you shoot the "Undead Companion" npcs, and if you get caught in that trap like the "Miser" npc sets in earlier waves, shoot it out so you can move. At least, that's what I did. I also got a ton of humbug rewards (plus 150 christmas memories) for getting through it, so that's nice. I just wanted to pass this on to you, and to anyone else that might be interested. And "happy new year", brother!

@The*Defiant - Thanks for the info. I did manage to get to wave 13 in 1.5 hrs and then to the last wave, but when it entered the second phase I didn't survive. It took about 2 hours to get there, so I haven't tried again.

After those two runs I had enough Humbugs to upgrade Bob's healing buff to 10, so I should have a better chance now. I haven't had two hours to dedicate to it since. I didn't know about the Bliss giving a benefit, good tip. I did shoot many of them, but didn't notice any HP change. Mind you I wasn't paying much attention to that. :)

I did shoot the Undead. It might have been one of their traps that did me in.

I did get enough memories to do the 50 quest. That got me most of what I wanted from the Shop.

I didn't do the Abyss last year. I didn't have the time needed to complete the event so when I knew I couldn't do that I cut my losses and didn't worry about the Abyss.

Happy New Year to you as well!!

I have one closing comment on this event, in regards to the rankings. With about 8 hours left - on my server - the "Eternal Survivor"" leader has completed 240 waves without ever leaving the dungeon - (see screenshot at bottom). That is 240/15 waves = 16 complete maps. His fastest finish ("Speedrunner") is around 41 minutes - (also, see screenshot at bottom). That means he stayed on Seafight and in the dungeon without leaving - and playing a challenging map - for **at the mathematical least** 16 x 41 = 656 minutes, or 10.9333 hours. I mean, that is pretty hard to fathom. Especially when the dungeon map demands considerable concentration during that length of time!

I hope in the future (and especially next Christmas, if this game still exists, and this "Frozen Abyss" map as well), that somebody will "sanity check" these results. I don't like to question the veracity, but we all know the prizes for winning are pretty great, so the motive to win is high, and we also know a player's performance can be "manipulated". And therein lies the problem.

Thank you for this event. It was fun.

I received a pack of stuff at the end of the event. I assume that means I got one of the rewards for one of the event rankings. I didn't think I was in the running for any of them, so I wasn't paying attention to what thing gave what reward. Is there a way to find out what I got the reward for?

There's a random award at the end of event rankings, I got it once, maybe you did too...?
