If Bigpoint is going to wipe out a player's aura protection now with just one tower salvo, then lower their effective range! The tower range has been too long for quite some time; if you want to be fair to PvE players too, it should not be like it is now. A player just minding his/her own business and doing quests, can lose their aura by just getting halfway close to an island. (It hasn't happened to me yet, but probably will soon, and I've played a long time).

Aura of protection should only be lost from a tower if you attack it first. I agree with the range. With the top level towers, as soon as you can see the tower it shoots you.

That is not what the recent Wednesday "patchday notes" state. (See below).

    Ahoy Pirates,

    We are syncing the following.

    Bug fix:
    • Resolved the Market Cove displaying a white page
In the earlier sync, we also made one additional change:
    • Guild Towers now remove your Aura of Protection when they shoot you
    Your Seafight Team

So? Why would they shoot you if you are protected? The fact they mentioned a change implies that they will now shoot you first if it is an enemy guild's tower and remove your aura. If not, then what change was made? Didn't you always lost the aura if you shot a tower?

Yes this needs to be changed. have done chest maps today and many times when i come out from there it spawns me near island, another time so close i lost my aura, so whats the idea in this? Or do we really need to jump to no island map to do our el dorado map :O

This means the island towers now shoot you when you just sail by them unprovoked, within their range with your aura on (thus removing the aura, which, by the way, since we have had our supply reduced, makes them even more valuable than before). That's why I'm saying the tower range should be lowered, now more than ever.

Thank you Rymar, these recent changes make it much harder for the smaller boats to stay on the water, I wouldn't think BP would want less people playing.

I think if they are going to take shields away for getting too close by someone who isn't allied with those island i think everyone should lose their shield not just the players who isn't allied with those said islands .

I use the auras to be able to get close enough to hit event npcs that normally the players who are high level hitting ships will keep all other non allied players from taking part in. the players pull the npcs into the islands where non allied players can not hit it. It is hard enough with island hitting the players trying to hit event npcs but with other players trying to keep npcs to themselves and shooting all others off it. the easy of which auras are now broken, why would anyone need it now and why would any new players want to play?? no ease of playing. no map to hit and build in peace. has any developer even sailed the maps?? there are so few people in lower maps, used to be a hundred players or more in each map, now lucky to see 2 or 3 players in each map. this new fix is a awesome way of reducing even more players.. Well done BP.

That's an excellent point! It is now a major problem with this game. You use a teleport to get to a map and find the event npc (that you have to board for the quest) - although it just spawned - has already been moved to inside the island. You are simply "out of luck", unless you want to lose your aura (and they are in limited supply).

You know Dc I think it would be nice if they put some in mega happy hour Bp.... Bipoint is losing nothing by doing that and the fact they might get more players to come back knowing they can build up in peace...but that makes to much sense, lol cheers my pirate in arms

this was new 18.6 :We've increased the radius around the Guild Islands where Chests, Monsters, NPCs, Glitters and Users (when teleporting/respawning) will not spawn within. but again when coming out from sharkfang bay -needed to go there for this new event- again im spawning next to island
