Mercenary Fleets.

Is this feature working correctly? I tried to hire fleets a couple of times tonight and could not. I had plenty of crowns within my guild, so I don't understand. I have done this before with success, so I wanted to ask if it isnt' working, or what might I be doing wrong? Thank you.

 

I think you buy fleets with your crowns, not guild crowns.

I just checked and yes this game feature works as intended.

Please be aware that your own crowns are required to hire a fleet (as pointed out by your fellow pirate), additionally your ship cannot be under the aura of protection when hiring a fleet.

Thank you Bawdyn and Rymar. I have plenty of crowns and no aura on right now. I wanted to use this feature to attack an island. Why can I still not hire a fleet? (Screenshot is below).

 

into your screenshot i read

"next fleet available 00:00:02"

could be that? (you can hire a fleet when there isn't the countdown)

P.S. Rymar - I never got notified the two times I had this island and it was attacked, and I was online. Is that a glitch? And it says towers cannot be repaired while under attack. But I hit this island after several towers were taken out by my mercenary fleet, and while I continued my attack, they repaired them to Level 4. How?

Do you have your island notification enabled?

If you go to your Guild -> Guild Islands you should see something like this:

Make sure that your notifications are on.

Regarding the tower being repaired, well, the only "how to" I can think of is the change from Normal to Defensive tower mode (when you build one there are option to pick between).

Okay - thank you in regards to the box to tick for assault notifications. I did not know that. And did you mean they could possibly repair their towers while attacked if they rebuilt the towers with a different option (offensive, neutral, or defensive)?

I mean that you could set your tower to change its mode from Defensive to Offensive which would cost you currency and takes time - this is the only way I can think that someone could "repair" the tower when it was attacked quite fast, the other options would be the repair cannons with fully equipped repair set - however I can be wrong as islands never were my "go to" within the game.
