    Sandstorm

Throughout the arid Al'Mahreen region strong winds blow...
Therefore, there is a possibility that a Sandstorm can appear in any of the Al'Mahareen region maps.

When entering a map with a Sandstorm, your sight will be impaired to which you may find it difficult to see the enemies hidden in the storm.

Every hour, there is a chance a Sandstorm will appear in one of the Al'Mahareen region maps, and lasts for one hour. A sandstorm is not guaranteed to spawn each hour.

Should you find yourself unlucky enough to be caught within the Sandstorm, the force of nature shall damage your ship by 50,000 every 5 seconds you remain within the storm.

The inhabitant NPC's however are used to such weather; their ships designed to withstand the storm so well they are healed a small amount every 5 seconds.

Due to the strong sandy winds, the Sandstorm will have an effect on your ship while you remain within it, you can see this by the following icon in your status bar:

Your Range of Vision is decreased by 10%, however, the strong winds increase your ships Speed by 10%.

Akma'het, a strong inhabitant of Al'mahareen who roams the Palace of the Elements effects how often the Sandstorm can spawn:
    • Akma'het has been defeated - fewer Sandstorms shall spawn
    • Akma'het is roaming the Portal of Elements - regular Sandstorm spawns
    • Akma'het was not defeated - more Sandstorms shall spawn
You can find out more information about Akma'het and the Palace of the Elements in the Seafight Bible post.

Should you be unlucky enough to get sunk in the map where a Sandstorm is taking place, you will be teleported to the Safe Haven on your respawn.

The Sandstorm also brings with it dangerous enemies who roam the map the Sandstorm is active within. The Sandstorm NPC's spawn every 15 minutes, up to a maximum of 5 within the map.
