Bug Speed stone & pet speed stone not working

So I have had this question for a long time, since I have bought a design because of the speed stone. At that moment it felt just bad for buying the design, because that Citrine stone was not worth at all, I didn't feel my boat sailing aroud faster. Also, afterwards I got more valuable stones and never thougth of using it again.

Well, today I have been rewarded with a Labradorite pet stone, and wanted to try it alongside the ship stone metioned above.

The findings were that it made absolutly no difference in my ship's speed once again.
So I checked the ship's speed value and stated no difference also:

1) This is my speed WITHOUT speed stone and pet speed gem.
Speed = 1261


2) This is my speed WITH speed stone and pet speed gem.
Speed = 1261



This is the pet speed gem I had on my Unity design (second picture).
It should add me at least a base +50 speed.

It should add me at least a base +80 speed.


Thinking this could be a visual bug I tested logging in and out after making changes and it all stood the same. I have cleared all the extensions, sails and many other stuff, trying to figure out if this was some kind of self-solving weird bug but that didn't happen.

I went to test if the time was the same on going from one side to the other on the map and the results I got from navigating from 60-AA to 00-AA on a map:

• Ship without stones +-49 seconds.
• Ship with speed stone(+80) and pet speed gem(+50) +-49 seconds.

So it was not only a visual bug.
Am I missing something here, is there some kind of limit?
I don't think so because I get much higher results on speed while using speed stones and so on.

80 speed gem is when youre ships burn then you get that speed, try it out with fire cammo....
you need the 49 speed gem...when youre ship got some damage....
about the pet speed gems i dont know....

All I have always seen just mentions +80 speed.

 

That pirate is correct. The ship speed gem that is 49 (Topaz) is if you are not on fire. The one that is higher (80 - Citrine) is when you are on fire. The same is also true for the Labradorite Pet Special gem. They should be in the Seafight Bible Index under "Gems" (Ship Special Gems and Pet Special Gems). I suspect that is why you see no effect with those two gems.

One quick suggestion: If you ever get the Amazonite Special Pet gem, it is worth checking out. It gives you 10 extra Expansion Slots.

Your fellow pirates are correct.

Citrine special gem (80 speed) works only in burning or damaged state, same applies to your pet gem Labradorite (50 speed).

Thank you all for the enlightment.

However I feel like this is very unfair.
Ok, it can be stated on the forums that the gem stone have conditions to be met, in order to have effect.
But this is unfair. I bought the design from the shop and it shows nowhere, in t he actual game, that the +80 speed is only applied when on damaged state.
