The Lamp

Is there some real info on what the Lamp is and what it does? I read the FAQ entry for it and still have no idea what it does.

 

Genie Buffs

Once you obtain this action item you will have access to the 1st tier of bonuses (Genie's Roar, Genie's Mirage, Genie's Arsenal, Genie's Celerity, Genie's Aegis, Genie's Luck, Genie's Sabotage, Genie's Vigor, Genie's Aim) which will provide you with a different bonus that last for 45 minutes.

In order to gain access to further 2nd tier of bonuses (Genie's Wrath, Genie's Shield, Genie's Armory, Genie's Alacrity, Genie's Fortitude, Genie's Wealth, Genie's Mischief, Genie's Vitality, Genie's Punch) you need to obtain a Magic Crystal, 2nd tier bonuses last 1 hour and 30 minutes.

Such Magic Crystal will be given to you as a reward for further pirate tasks (quest / test).

Please note that you can activate your lamp only within certain map, don't forget to place it away from islands (including guild island) as the Genie NPC appear next to you once item has been activated.

@Rymar - Yes, that helps. Thanks.

Some questions:

• Is the Lamp consumed when you use it or does it remain to be used again after the cool-down? If consumed, how do I get it again?
• Do you get to choose from all of the buffs in the 1st tier? It says something is random, so that implies some part of this is not in my control, but it also says choice, so is the choice from a subset of the buffs? If so, how many do you choose from?
  
• You have to be in the 41-50 maps to activate the lamp, but does the buff work outside of those maps?

 

Hey buddy. The lamp is not consumed, it stays permanently in your inventory. You can use it once every 24 hours (I believe). You get a list of random choices, and you can pick one (from a subset of around six buffs). Example: the genie "arsenal" option gives you more cannons (15%, I think). When you get the magic crystal, you get to sometimes pick the genie "armory" option, which is 20% more cannons. The option you pick travels with you for the time limit (45 minutes, or whatever it is), and you can go to any map and still use it. But, as you stated, you must activate it in the 40 maps. (I'm sure Rymar can give you a better answer, but this should be pretty much correct).

1. No, both Lamp and Magic Crystal (lamp upgrade) are permanent items.
2. Yes, there is a set of buffs from which you can select just 1 - buffs appear randomly so you could have Armory 5 days in a row or don't have it displayed for a week too
3. Buff works in every map - rift, event group maps etc. (Note: Some group maps set certain value on your ship (hp, damage etc. in such case the lamp buff is not active)​

Pardon me, Rymar. How much time lapses between the use of the lamp, and one's ability to use it again?

Lamp recharge every 12 hours, buff - well on that part everything depends on luck.

As stated in previous post you could have Armory x5 in a row one after another, but sometimes it may take few days or even a week for it to appear, there is no set time or limit on how many times a day / week / month each buff appear.
