The Winter Event 2016​

The Winter Event features the following:

· New amazing “The Wolfs Maw” ship design to be won!

· Two brand new pets: “Hrmthursar” and “Eikthyrnir”

· pets and ship designs from previous Winter Events and more available at the black market

· Event treasure chests

· Njord Saga Group Map

· Yuletide PvP Sub event

· Snowman mini game

· Snowball Fight PvP arena 3 vs 3

· Various Quest chains:

o Base event quest from Siguar
o Njord saga quests from Haldor Olfasson
o Yuletide quests from Haldor Olfasson
o Snowman mini game quest from Haldor Olfasson
o Snowball fight quest from Magnus Halbert​

· Several rankings:

o Base event: points for killing base NPCs (rewarded end of event)
o Njord saga ranking: Time based ranking for the group map (rewarded at the end of the sub event)
o Yuletide ranking: Point based ranking for keeping the gift the longest (rewarded daily during sub event)
o Snowman ranking: Time based ranking for the mini game (rewarded at the end of the sub event)
o Snowball Arena ranking: Point based ranking from winnings in the arena (rewarded each time after the sub event ends)​

Timeline (please note that all times are local server time):

· The Winter Event will start at 12 noon on 30th November and will end at 12 noon on 2nd January

· The Winter Calendar starts in the night from 30th November to the first of December and will run until the 24th December

· The “Njord Saga” phase will take place from 12 noon on 2nd December until 12 noon on 8th December

· The “Yuletide” phase will take place from 12 noon on 12th December until 12 noon on 18th December

· The “Snowman fight” will take place from 12 noon on 23rd December until 12 noon on 29th December

· The “Snowball fight arena” will take place:

o 12 noon on 2nd December until 12 noon on 5th December

o 12 noon on 9th December until 12 noon on 12th December

o 12 noon on 16th December until 12 noon on 19th December

o 12 noon on 23rd December until 12 noon on 26th December

o 12 noon on 30th December until 12 noon on 2nd January​

• The Black Market will remain open until the end of the day on 5th January

• Post event compensation: 6th January at 12 noon

“The Wolfs Maw” design:

In order to get hold of the “The Wolfs Maw” design you need to collect 6 different parts of the ship. In each of the events you can earn one of these parts.

To collect the six ship parts you will need:

· 1st ship part: Calendar

The first part can be gained by opening at least 20 of the 24 doors of the “Winter Calendar”. The calendar can be accessed directly from the sea chart by clicking on the event ticker icon.

Doors remain opened for the rest of the event time. A door can only be open on the exact day.

Doors that have not been opened stay close for the rest of the event.​

· 2nd ship part: Event Chest

One of the 6 parts of the ship can be found in the Event Treasure Chests – the Event Keys can be bought in the Black Market for Pearls. There are many items available in the chests such as Gingerbread Men, Mojos, Candles, Snow Ammunition, Winter Lights, candy canes and many more items as well as the chance to get 1 part of the ship.​

· 3rd ship part: Group Map (Njord Saga phase)

The 3rd event where you can get another part of the ship will take place on the “Nidhugsheim” group map. Before you will be able to access the boss map you need to shoot “Bjorgolds” in order to receive Ancient Emblems. If you collected enough of these, visit “Eona Norling” in one of the save haven. “Eona Norling” will provide a group finder queue, like you know it already from the previous events, where you need to choose your role in a team with a maximum of 5 players.

After your team is full you will be teleported to the group map where you will face the two bosses “Nidhug” and “Hildisvini”.


Each boss has two phases.


During phase 1 both bosses will apply debuffs (“Nidhug” applies a different debuff than “Hildisvini”) on the player with the highest aggro (tank). Each application will increase the debuff stack by one, that means the effect gets applied multiple times. Each debuff stack will prolong the duration so the tanks have to regularly switch bosses so the individual debuffs don’t stack too high. Meanwhile the damage dealers have to inflict damage (in the best case equally) to push both bosses into phase 2.

During both phases the healer has to heal the tanks.


The 2nd phase of each boss will start when they reach a certain amount of HP. During the 2nd phase Whale “Nidhug” will submerge and whale hunters will try to steal your loot by attacking the Whale. After the whale died in this phase, he will switch back to phase 1 again and your whole group will be rewarded.

The group damage share will treat the group as an own entity and share the loot equally in this group. Be sure to be in a group!


When “Hildisvini” switches into the second phase, he will spawn “Freyja” minions which will attack the whale hunters spawned by “Nidhug” and hereby save your loot. If there are none of them left, the “Freyja minions” will despawn after a certain time (be aware when you bring which boss in phase 2!). As soon as any of the bosses died (“Nidhug” or “Hildisvini”) the other one gets enraged. The boss who’s left will spawn a zone underneath him which will make him stronger.

Two players will be rewarded with a ship part – the player who causes the most damage and the player who causes the last shot on Whale “Nidhug”. Additionally the player who did the last shot on Whale “Nidhug” will have a chance to receive the whale pet (Pike)

There is small chance for all players of the group to get a ship part when they finish the group map.

If both bosses are dead, all players will be teleported back to the regular map again. If you didn’t manage to kill both bosses your time won’t show up in the ranking.​

· 4th ship part: Gift chasing event (Yuletide phase)

The 4th event is “Yuletide” (a gift chasing event) where a player must hold onto the gift for as long as possible in order to gain points and finish high in the rankings.

You are only allowed to pick up the gift on a map of your level range as follows: Map and pirate level 2 – 6, 7 – 12, 13 – 16, 17 – 20 and 21 – 25.

If you leave your level range you will automatically lose the gift.

Every 24 hours from 12 noon to 12 noon (Local Server Time), the ranking is reset and the top 5 ranked players will each get a part of the ship design. In addition, 5 random players in the top 100 ranking will gain a part of the design per day.​

· 5th ship part: Snowball Fight

The 5th event is “Snowball Fight” a 3vs3 player arena match. All players in one team get optically a new design for the map. They keep their gem stats, it is just a visual exchange. All players are invulnerable, the team which does the most damage wins the match, and the player in the winning team who does the most damage is rewarded additionally.


Every 2 min 4 Zones will spawn and last for 1 minute.


2 zones increase the damage a player does. (Cannon damage).


2 zones decrease the damage a player revives. (Cannon hit dodge).


Every 2 min 2*10 boxes spawn that have a similar effect and the buff can stack in effect.


The buff provided lasts 30 seconds


Leaving the arena is only possible by logging out and the player will receive the deserter debuff. (A debuff on the normal map)


In case of a tie, the team who has reached the tied value first wins the match.​

· 6th ship part: Snowman mini game

Visit Haldor Olafson to get access to the snowman map, it costs magical emblems (the amount depends on how often you have played the mini game).

In the first phase the snowman is in the middle of the map and doesn´t move. During that phase you can shoot the snowman. When the snowman has lost a certain amount of HP the 2. phase starts:

In the 2. phase the snowman is not attackable. Presents and ice floe boxes spawn on the map. Ice floes provide you with a damage buff (during that phase) and presents move to the snowman, if they reach him, they will heal the snowman and despwan.

The 2. phase ends when all presents are gone (healed the snowman or sunk) and the 1. phase starts again.

The mini game ends, when you get sunk or you sink the snowman.​

Don’t worry! If you miss out on getting one of the parts of the ship design, you can get them by trading in your collected “Candy Canes”.

The ship designs from previous Winter Events available at the black market have the following stats:

· Skadi:

+15% Cannon damage,
+7% Hit Chance,
+70.000 HP,
+70.000 VP​

· Heimdall:

+14% cannon damage,
+10% harpoon damage,
+70.000 HP
+13% damage prevention​

· Bifröst:

+12% cannon damage,
+10% harpoon damage,
+65.000 HP
+35.000 VP​

· Dalendris:

+11% cannon damage,
+10% harpoon damage,
+65.000 HP,
+15.000 VP​

The brand new ship design available to win through collecting the ship parts has the following stats:

· The Wolfs Maw:

+15% cannon damage,
+16% critical damage,
+75.000 HP,
+80.000 VP​

You can get the new pets as well as the pet from last year’s Winter Event by trading Gingerbread men for them in the Black Market!


The pets have the following stats:

· Habrok:

+10% hit chance
+25,000 HP​

· Munin:

+11,25% hit chance,
+25.000 VP,
+50% BP (special gem)​

· Elivagar:

+11,25% dodge chance,
+35.000 HP,
+10% max heal (special gem)​

· Hrimthursar:

+25.000 VP
+3,25% cannon damage​

· Eikthyrnir:

+ 25.000 HP
7,5% hit chance

There will be a whole host of items available in the Black Market where you can trade in your collected Gingerbread men! These items include various buffs, action items like Candles, Snowmen, Winter lights, candy canes or Event Keys. During the whole event of course you will be able to buy Snow Ammunition as well.

Two NPCs (Grumpy Boar and Elegant Elk) will sail around on all PvP Maps, Black Ram will sail around on Maps 6 - 25.

Grumpy Boar can be shot with gold ammunition while Elegant Elk, Skuld and Black Ram can only be attacked with elite ammunition.

Snowball ammunition will cause extra damage against these as well as on all other Event NPCs!

Depending on how much damage you cause against Grumpy Boar, you will be rewarded with Experience Points, Elite Points and Snow ammunition. Additionally you will receive either one Winter Light, Candle, Snowman, Gingerbread man or further Elite Points.


Elegant Elk will drop XP, Gingerbread men and Elite Points depending on how much damage you cause against him.

Depending on how much damage you cause against Black Ram, you will be rewarded with XP, Elite Points, Pearls and Gingerbread men.
