Voodoo Velocity.

I only have two presets, and my ship's speed differs between the two by this "voodoo velocity". (It shows as being a component on one preset, but not the other one). How do I correct this? Thank you for your time and help.

In order to activate additional speed you will have to own a minimum amount of voodoo points which depends on the amount of skill points added into this particular skill.

I apologize for my not being more clear. How can it show as being part of the speed component in one of my presets, and not the other? It should apply to both, should it not? Please see below (taken while sitting in Safe Haven):

Voodoo Velocity only applies when you have over a certain amount of Voodoo Points on your Ship. The amount that is required depends on the amount of skillpoints you have assigned within this Skill - you can see the amount you require by going to the Skills page and hovering your mouse over the skill, it will then inform you in the tooltip description.

A person who has assigned the maximum amount of skillpoints into this skill will require at least 25% Voodoo Points (VP) currently on their ship for this skill to apply. Those who have not assigned the maximum amount of skillpoints will require a higher amount of VP.

E.g. if your maximum VP on your current preset is 100,000 you would need at least 25,000 in order for the benefits of this skill to apply (as it requires at least 25%). If I changed preset to one which has a higher maximum, for example 200,000, then the amount of current VP I would need would also increase to 25% of the new value (in this case it would be 50,000).

So, to answer your question why it may apply on one preset and not another; if your maximum voodoo points changes, the value at which it will require you to have as a minimum will also change. Only when you meet the percentage requirement would this skill activate again.

But my ship was fully repped in Safe Haven. I don't see why both presets wouldn't show Voodoo Velocity, instead of just one preset...?

As stated by Swift, you need certain amount of VP for Voodoo Velocity to activate.

If your preset 1 has 100 000 VP and your skill is max you need to have 25 001 VP minimum to have full speed activated.

Your 2nd preset may differ in the amount of VP where it could be 200 000 VP for example, then required amount would be 50 001 minimum.

If you wish for this to be reviewed provide us with your server and user ID without such information we are unable to assist you any further (if you do provide us with ID please include presets names that you seen the difference within).

I apologize to you. I found it. I have Voodoo Velocity maxxed on one boat, but not on this one. What threw me off was when I change my preset from #1 to #2 (while sitting in Safe Haven), the Voodoo Shield drops almost 50%, even though I am sitting still. I didn't think it would do that, and I was incorrect. It is because the Voodoo Shield is 190,000 on preset 1 and 350,000 on preset 2. (I knew they were different, but didn't expect the shield value to drop from 100% just from changing the preset. But that said, I am not a programmer). Thank you for all of the time you spent on this. P.S. The giveaway was my screenshot above, where my Voodoo Velocity value is +58 speed. Fully maxxed Voodoo Velocity is +100 speed. I should have seen that.

 

If you switch to a preset that has a higher value than the starting preset then you still have the same amount of VP or HP as the lower one. It's just the max that changes not the amount, you have to heal or use an amulet to get beck to full again.
