whats the official policy regarding flooding in chat? it seems this is not enforced in a uniform fashion.i was told by a chat mod that you had to post 6 sentences in a row with no break for this to be flooding.so using that ruling posting sinks on players over a period of time should not be flooding? whats the deal?

The chat rules state clearly no flooding.

We have made that 5 lines of chat without another player posting a chat line between. On the sixth line you will receive a chat ban.

well i raised this point in the chat ban section of the forum and there seems to be a disagreement or lack of understanding on this issue.so can i have an exact statement? posting sinks on a player over a period of time is not reason to ban someone? or is it? i need to know going forward.

"Please be aware that starting on the morning of 21st December 2017 you will receive a ban for flooding the chat. Flooding is posting continuous chat of 6 or more posts in global chat. There will be no more “kick” warnings for this offence. Happy sailing!"

This was posted in all chat rooms over a one week period.

Again I will clarify if you make six posts without another player posting in between this is indeed flooding. You can make five posts on the sixth it will receive a chat ban.

so if i post a sink on the same player over the course of say 1/2 hour this is not breaking the rules? i clearly did not break the rules based on your ruling.please educate your chat mods as i intend to start posting alot of sinks

to be honest i do not post a lot except when defending myself from other comments or posting sinks. but i would like the rules whatever they may be to be enforced in a uniform fashion.i asked a chat mod so i would be sure not to break the rules and was given the 6 sentence guideline.i followed that and was banned for 2 days for posting sinks over a period of time not consecutive lines in chat.again i think the mods should be educated on this rule or if the rule has changed and i am in error post the new policy.so again im asking if you post sinks on the same players and do not break the 6 sentence in consecutive rule will you be chat banned?

  8. I learned a long time ago not to bother to defend myself, in Chat. It is a tactic used by other players to ruin your concentration, and possibly get you banned. Turn the Chat off for a while, and try to calm down.

The Chat Mods are thoroughly informed of these rules. This is part of every Chat Mod's training. They are also informed, immediately, when any changes are made to these rules.

If you feel you have been banned unfairly, please post your comments in the Chat section of the Forum. They will be reviewed, and a decision will be made, based upon the circumstance. You can also contact Support.
