    Hi everyone,

I appreciate responses to my previous threads, but I have a few more questions that I am unclear on

So I have been fighting some NPC's that are pretty hard hitting and hit me for 60k(my damage prevention is only 20 percent). It sunk me within 10 hits due to my low hp. I noticed however, there was another person parked up next to the NPC and they literally stood there shooting it for ages without being sunk. How does damage prevention work? Say a NPC hits 100k, would 10 percent reduction mean they now hit 90k? Is that how some players are taking so little damage?

My next question is, are the NPC pearl rewards wrong? I sunk an admiral and got 8k pearls on map 7 but the index states it only rewards 1k?

I have also been looking at the leaderboards and noticed someone had sunk 12k ships today. Is this legit? Surely nobody could have sunk 12,000 NPC's in a single day? The same person seems to be sinking that many every day as well.

What use is gold these days? Is it essentially pointless once you have the basic stuff?

I appreciate the help, sorry for asking so many questions

    Ahoy Womble1996!

Don't be sorry for your questions! We all started at some point (-:

Let me answer you in points:

    1. Which NPC are we talking about?

Please be aware that NPC same as players have their own statistic (damage, hit probability, dodge chance, damage prevention and so on). Exact stats for the NPCs are unknown however some like Guardians (found in map 22+) may require you to have slightly higher hit probability then Renown's for example.

You need to remember the following (apply to both NPCs and Players):

Damage Prevention affect your opponent Cannon Damage (and vice-versa).
Dodge Chance affect your opponent Hit Probability (and vice-versa).

Having 20% damage prevention is a bit low, try improving it by adding better gems on both your pet and ship. Additionally during events do your best to collect as many as possible (Pearls) so you can upgrade your Castles and Skills - this process can be hard at the beginning but finding a guild and some players who are willing to help can work miracles (-:

The exact calculation on how much % in damage prevention is required for specific NPC do not exist - this is something that players need to uncover themselves (pssst! in most cases dmg. prevention of 110% does the job!).

After improving your ship and pet gems move onto extension items (like ribs, lamps etc.).

It is important to understand that mixing Ribs with anything is a big NO NO.

All extensions have 2 values: Absolute and Relative

Absolute values are when extensions that contains the same type of value are added together to give you a total.

Relative values are calculated to at an average, meaning if a value is lower or not included on another equipped extension, the maximum value will be less. The value that is displayed in the overview shows the optimum value. This is the one that can be reached if you are either equipping only one extension, or extensions of the same type.

If you have any questions on ship upgrading fire away!

    2. Rewards

No, if you have indeed received 7 000 pearls good for you! Which NPC was that if you don't mind? Some areas of our Seafight Bible need to be improved / updated (which is a never ending task trust me..), perhaps we have overlooked something hihi.

True "gains" are from the events, regular NPCs do not bring that much of a loot, focus on preparation for future events (level up, upgrades etc.) this will definitively improve your game experience.

    3. NPCs sunk

12 000 sounds like much but on high-end boat it is possible.

Maxed player reload in 1.5 seconds and take most of the NPCs (off event) with one hit, which makes 12 000 NPC just but a 5 hour gameplay - sounds like much but trust me for some it isn't.

If you feel however that something need to be looked into or player behave in a odd way you can always report such behaviour onto Support (found at the bottom of the homepage), just click on button fill in your complaint add player ID and send it of for a check-up!

    4. Currency

Gold is simply but a relict of past, still in use, still allow you to gain some free items (check Market Cove). Gold is also used to unlock some further cannon slot (the beginning ones as well as much later in the game).

Other than that gold has no function anymore.

Hope I covered all your questions.

If you found anything that's still troublesome don't hesitate to ask!

    Happy Sailing!

I am talking about the admiral from map seven. Are admirals meant to give so many pearls away? Is that way there are high level players farming the lower maps all day? I presume the gold is worthless so they must be sinking them for something?

You are going to need that Gold to buy Cannon Slots and they get expensive fast.

    Ahoy!

Most of the players farm in lower maps due to Season tasks - to gain additional coins which can be exchanged for season progress.

And yes, NPCs give much more pearls than in the past (-:

Gold can be used to gain a set of
Cores too (look at Core Bonuses - Starjute), take a look at Crafting section of the game (more info here) where you can craft and/or destroy your cannons - so BE CAREFUL!

You should take a look at
League of Captains too - captains can do some of your bonus maps for you, there is a chance for some daily missions on them totally for free! No ammo spent, no harpoons fired! Pure profit.

On the Surface, click on ships equipment, go to values and click on the right hand lines, you will see "buy more slots" check out the costs and they cost a lot more the more you buy, including Gold.

Hello, I destroyed the balls that I had accumulated by investing a lot of money in the crafting section. Is it possible to get this back, sir?
