    Crew Equipment

    If you want your pirates to have a chance at boardin' another ship, equip them with the finest crew equipment you can!

    Equipment provides your pirates with additional armor and weapons, increasing your boarding bonus and boarding protection!

    How to equip equipment to your pirates along with other valuable information on boarding can be found in the
    Boarding bible entry.

    Crew Equipment can be broken down into three categories; Cutlasses, Armor and Pistols. Each pirate can be equipped with one item from each of them categories. These shall be listed below along with information on each item.



    Cutlasses

    Boarding Axe

    Perfect for splitting wood, skulls and even armor. The boarding axe is a versatile weapon that shows off what it can really do, especially when seizing ships.
    These can be purchased from the in-game shop for Pearls. They can also be won in the Cauldron of Aruba.


    Overview:

    +12 Boarding Protection

    +12 Boarding Bonus


    Dagger

    In the right hands, the dagger can be a deadly weapon in close combat. It may not be the most efficient weapon however due to its limited range. These can be purchased from the in-game shop for Gold.

    Armor

    Brigandine

    Equipped with a Brigandine, one of your pirates will be given a solid bonus. These can be purchased from the in-game shop for Gold.

    +12 Boarding Protection

    +6 Boarding Bonus


    Chainmail Shirt

    Chainmail shirt offers you all-round protection in close combat. Equipped with a Chainmail shirt, your pirates are given a substantial boost.
    These can be purchased from the in-game shop for Pearls. They can also be won in the Cauldron of Aruba.


    Overview:

    +16 Boarding Protection

    +8 Boarding Bonus


    Pistols

    Flintlock

    This pistol has no fuse and is ready to fire simply by tightening the trigger. Its reliable mechanism makes it very effective when boarding ships.
    These can be purchased from the in-game shop for Pearls. They can also be won in the Cauldron of Aruba.

    +24 Boarding Bonus



    Matchlock

    This gun is fired by a propellant charge that is ignited by a smoldering wick. Its outdated and weather-dependent mechanism might not make it the most effective when seizing ships however.
    These can be purchased from the in-game shop for Gold.
